TURTLEBACK MOUNTAIN HIKE, ORCAS ISLAND

Sunday, June 21st, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Join us to hike this recently acquired mountain land, purchased by the Friends of Turtleback Mountain from a private owner. A great new hike on the west side of Orcas Island, as spectacular as Mt. Constitution! Those that wish to may go over the night before to OrcasSing at Lime Kiln State Park on San Juan Island, and camp at San Juan County Park before taking the morning ferry to Orcas Island.

If just coming for Sunday's trip, group will need to meet at Anacortes and take the Orcas Island ferry. Note carpoolers will share the cost of ferry and gas with drivers, about $20 - $40 per person for the ferry alone, depending on how many share the ride. Bring lunch and water, sunscreen, a hat, hiking poles, and wear good hiking footwear. Dress for the weather and bring a jacket. For more information and to sign up, please contact Terese at terrasolutions@hotmail.com or 253-334-2156. Group will stop for dinner before our return ferry trip.
