Maureen Judge: City Council #3, Mercer Island

Mercer Island's population is growing and Maureen Judge wants to make sure that growth happens in a way that supports communities and preserves parks for people and places for wildlife. Large mixed-use high density projects are going in on the north end of the island, and will spread. More attention needs to be given to how that density will affect residents and what kinds of opportunities exist for improvements. In this time of growth, Ms. Judge believes the city ought to implement a mobility plan that includes more bike lanes, more local circulator transit, and light rail from the island, and find ways to help people reduce the number of trips they need to take off the island.
