Jessica Greenway: City Council #4, Kirkland

In her three years on the Kirkland City Council, Jessica Greenway has an impressive record of environmental leadership. She has been especially supportive of our highest priority issue--reducing greenhouse gas emissions to help curb global warming. She was instrumental in Kirkland's early adoption of the Mayors' Global Climate Protection Agreement, and has been working to implement it in the city.
In transportation, she has shown strong support for numerous initiatives to improve transit, as well as alternative and non-motorized transportation.
Ms. Greenway has worked extensively to protect wetlands and streams. She recognizes the problem of pesticides and other toxics; the Kirkland City Council directed city staff to work with Washington Toxics Coalition to eliminate pesticide use on city properties, making parks safer for people, pets and wildlife.
