Julie Anderson: City Council #7, Tacoma
Julie Anderson has been a leader on the Council for more than three years. Her most notable environmental achievement, as the City’s representative on the Sound Transit Board, was her strong and successful push to get a Sound Transit light rail line extension from Federal Way all the way to the Tacoma Dome into the November ballot package.
There are other local light rail ideas that Anderson believes need to be considered. This includes the contiguous piece of light rail from Mill Creek in Snohomish County through Seattle and Federal Way to Tacoma that will become an important mass transportation piece for the three-county region. This should significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions by getting cars and light trucks off the I-5 corridor. We strongly support Ms. Anderson for re-election.
