Strom Peterson: City Council #7, Edmonds

Strom Peterson is progressive and wants to address environmental concerns that have been ignored by incumbents. He believes that increasing urban density is not enough – smart, ecological building is a necessary part of the solution, along with investment in public transportation systems and zoning measures to reduce people’s reliance on cars.

He's supported by a majority of Edmonds community businesses, and has created the Sustainability Star Program to:  

1. Promote use of alternative renewable non-polluting fuels,
2. enact sustainable building codes,
3. protect open space,
4. clean up Puget Sound, and
5. educate people about what they can do to be part of the solution.

These goals are well-aligned with the priorities of the Sierra Club – educating the public is a key component if we are going to change the hearts and minds of those who are ignorant or stubborn.
