FOULWEATHER BLUFF LOW TIDE SUMMER BEACH EXPLORATION
A perfect spot to see for miles across Hood Canal from the Nature Conservancy's Foulweather Bluff preserve at the tip of the Kitsap Penninsula. Lower tides will allow checking out nearshore habitat, tidepools and some of the best sand dollar beds around. Bird species abound in the preserve's different ecosystems - upland forest, bogs, beach, and tidepools. Family friendly hike of 3 miles RT with little elevation gain with steps down to the beach. Dogs are not allowed in the preserve; this outing is open to the public. Group wll also visit Point-No-Point lighthouse and also the Hansville Greenway on this trip.
We will meet at a Park & Ride near the Edmonds- Kingston ferry at 8:30 am for the 9:20 ferry crossing. Return will be about 5 pm to the Edmonds dock. Please bring lunch, water, binoculars, sunglasses, a hat and wear walking shoes that can get wet.
