SNOWSHOE OUTING - SMITHBROOK ROAD, STEVENS PASS (SR 2)

Smithbrook Road crosses Stevens Pass and goes all the way to Lake Wenatchee (summer months only.) But our group today will snowshoe about 2-3miles, then return for a total RT length of 4-6 miles. Wide road with gradual uphill grade. Speed is not our goal, enjoyment of the outdoor beauty is. Leaving the Lynnwood Park and Ride lot at 9am., we can meet others along the way. Return by 5:30pm. Dress appropriately in layers for cold weather as well as physical activity; cotton not recommended but polypro and fleece are. You must provide your own snowshoes, boots & poles. REI rents sets for the weekend if you do not own snowshoes. Must be in good physical shape for this activity; this outing is open to the public. Bad weather will cancel this date, will be rescheduled.Also bring lunch, at least 1 liter of water, and hot drinks.
