Hike - "Aging the Human Footprint" BADGER CREEK - HIGH PRAIRIE/FLAG POINT
Posted by Terese VanAssche
Saturday, July 5th, 8:00 am - 8:00 pm
This is a 9.8 mile, easy, 625 ft. elevation gain hike. Who preceded us on the trail today, this week, this year, recent years, and not-so-recent years? Humans have left traces here for 13,000 years, directly and indirectly. From trackerTom Brown to paleontologist Paul Martin, we'll explore and discuss them all during a leisurely-paced hike. Flowers will be at their exuberant peak and there are 360 degree views of the Cascades from Mt. Rainier to the Three Sisters. (Columbia) Preregistration required. This outing is open to the public. Contact leader for announcement of location and directions and to sign up; contact Tom Lum Forest at (503) 359-3594 or by email. (CG / LW)
