Northern Alpine Lakes Hikes - West Fork Miller
Posted by Terese VanAssche
Saturday, July 12th, 8:00 am - 8:00 am
This old abandoned mine-to-market road pierces into the heart of this portion of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. The valley is walled in with stunning cliffs with many waterfalls, as well as interesting water features on the river. One can continue following the old road or, if snow level allows, at 2 ½ miles take a trip up into Coney Basin, both worthwhile options. Moderate hike of 7-9 miles and 1100-1800 ft. elevation gain depending on choice of destinations. Bring water and lunch and dress for the weather. Hiking boots required. This outing is open to the public. Contact Leader Harry Romberg (206) 365-9302 to sign up and for more information; HBRomb@aol.com. (CH)
