Northern Alpine Lakes Hikes - Tunnel Creek to Scenic

 This moderately strenuous hike will require a short car shuttle. Starting near Stevens Pass, the trail quickly enters old-growth forest, eventually entering existing Wilderness to reach the Pacific Crest Trail at Hope Lake. The trail continues through forest and eventually high country with plenty of views to Trap Pass where it quickly drops down to popular Surprise Lake. There the trail drops further down Surprise Creek through avalanche scars and old growth to the old railroad town of Scenic. 10+ miles; elevation gain 2700 ft. Bring water and lunch and dress for the weather. Hiking boots required. This outing is open to the public.
