Liz Loomis (D): State Representative #2, District 44
Prior to her 2008 appointment to the House, Representative Liz Loomis was on the Snohomish City Council for eight years, including two as Mayor of Snohomish, where she passed design standards for new low-impact development and worked to increase urban density and bus service to fight sprawl.
As a member of the House Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, she co-sponsored bills on urban forestry and forest board practices. Loomis also serves on the Insurance, Financial Services and Consumer Protection Committee and on the Transportation Committee. Her fellow lawmakers have selected her as Vice-Chair of Transportation. She is focused and passionate on solving traffic gridlock and providing public transit options. Her top environmental priorities are: funding public transportation, supporting the Growth Management Act, and promoting renewable energy and conservation. Loomis has an excellent environmental voting record.
