Hike - SILVER STAR MOUNTAIN-SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON

Saturday, August 9th, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Meet at Gateway Transit Center located at 9900 NE Multonomah in Portland. Map? This is a moderate 13.2 miles 2,600 ft. elevation gain hike. We'll be doing the Pyramid and Sturgeon Rock loop. Witness the fantastic 360 degree panoramic viewpoint from the top, and if clear weather, view five Cascade volcanoes. We'll then take a side trail and visit ancient Native American vision quest "pits" before returning via a loop trail back to the trailhead. This is an exploratory, GPS-friendly hike. We'll also be using a map and compass for navigation. Pre-registration required. Bring water & lunch. This outing is open to the public.
