Hidden Lake Trail #745 - A North Cascades Rendezvous & Campout Scheduled Hike

This trail begins in timber and climbs quickly for the first mile, then enters open meadows with grand views of the Cascade River, and plentiful fall colors and mushrooms. Follow switchbacks through meadows for 1.5 miles and then levels out to wander around angular slabs of granite and small groups of alpine fir. Spectacular views of high, jagged Cascade peaks can be seen from these higher meadows. At the 6500 foot elevation, the route enters a small pass from which Hidden Lake and the Hidden Lake Lookout can be seen. The route to the lookout traverses a talus slope for 1/4 mile. The lookout is at elev/ 6850 and was built in 1931, it is currently maintained by volunteers. No drinking water available on the trail.
