Non Sierra Club Event: Craggy Peak Hike - Dark Divide Roadless Area - Gifford Pinchot National Forest

Join the Gifford Pinchot Task Force for a hike along Craggy Peak trail #3 into the Dark Divide roadless area.
The Dark Divide is a spectacular 74,000-acre roadless area located in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest in Southwest Washington. From numerous ridge tops hikers can soak in breathtaking views of Mt. Adams, Mt. St. Helens, Mt. Rainer, Mt. Hood, and the peaks within Goat Rocks Wilderness.
Increasing threats from off-road vehicle users underscore the importance of protecting this beautiful area. The Craggy Peak trail #3 goes into the middle portion of the Dark Divide area. The trail has about a 1,960-foot elevation gain and a 280-foot elevation loss and we will hike about 4 miles into the Dark Divide area.
Please RSVP to Lisa Moscinski at lisa@gptaskforce.org if you are interested in participating in the hike. Hikers should be prepared for various weather conditions, bring food and water, and bright clothing (red or orange) because it is hunting season.
