Quinault Rainforest Nature Trails
Lush mid-temperate rainforest, cascading creeks and some of the biggest primeval Doug Fir trees on the planet are just a few of the highlights on this beautiful hike. The Quinault Valley is arguable the most impressive of the three rainforest valleys on the west end of the Olympic Peninsula. Join us and hear some of the history within the Quinault Valley including the details behind President Franklin Roosevelt’s famous 1937 visit and how it helped shape Olympic National Park as we know it today. The trip will be a moderately paced 3-5 mile trek with a “barely noticed” 350 ft elevation gain.
Please contact Benjamin Greuel for further details and to RSVP at 206-378-0114 x 319 or by email ben.greuel@sierraclub.org. As always, please make sure to bring water, a snack, raingear and proper footwear.
