Royce Pollard: Mayor, Vancouver

Royce Pollard and the Sierra Club have an excellent longstanding relationship. Royce is a previously endorsed candidate whose work has made a dramatic difference in the community. He supports hiking and biking in Vancouver and has spearheaded the creation of a fantastic trails network. His action on the Cool Cities campaign was significant, in the face of some constituents who dismiss global warming, or believe that measures to curb emissions are too costly to the business community. He signed Vancouver up as a Cool City early, acting in response to a Loo Wit member recommendation. Royce Pollard is not afraid to do what is right.

He has promoted environmental policies and grown in his understanding of them. He makes time for the Loo Wit group consistently. He is readily available for discussion on environmental issues, has attended group events, and was a guest at a Cascade Chapter meeting in Vancouver during 2008.

Pollard has extensive experience in Vancouver city politics, and has spent years building connections with decision makers at the county, state, and international level.He is committed to bringing green jobs to Vancouver. Through his strong connections with our commerce partners, both domestic and overseas, Pollard is actively working to find companies that are able to use the products, resources, or waste of industries already doing business in the city.
