Rose Ehart: City Council #5, University Place

Rose Ehart is running for University Place City Council Position #5. She lost a previous City Council race two years ago to an incumbent council member by only a handful of votes out of a few thousand cast. Sierra Club endorsed Ehart in that election and the Tatoosh Group believes she deserves our support again. She is a highly competent outspoken environmental advocate who wants to help change the University Place Council make-up to support economic development with a more balanced approach to protect wetlands and urban green open space. She started her campaign early and has been running well ever since. Her opponent, who is also good on the environment, jumped into the race at the very last moment and is not in as good a position to win this race. Ehart is sensitive to the environment, has demonstrated her commitment to seek this council position, and will provide a needed fresh face on the University Place Council.
