Mathew Pruitt: City Parks Commission #5, Kirkland

Mathew's experience and background are excellent. He has a Masters in Public Administration, and has some experience of community involvement and environmental activism through his church. He has two young sons and wants them to have as safe and beautiful natural world as possible.

This race is significant because this park district is included in the area that soon will be annexed by the City of Kirkland. Mathew wants to ensure that the city allows only responsible development around the park, and that the park's character is maintained—not turned into artificial turf fields.

The potential impact of your support in this race is huge.  Mathew can help attain the club's goals in three areas:

• Maintain the character of open space in increasing urban areas.
• Build relationships and gain influence in local government boards and commissions.
• Provide new allies to work with our current allies in Kirkland City Council.

Mathew is eager to meet colleagues who work in urban planning, and to work with our friends in Kirkland City council to ensure continued smart development within the urban growth boundary.
