Karen Kearney: City Council #3, Spokane

Karen has worked hard as a citizen on two issues of concern to Sierra Club. Karen has led active opposition to billboards, earning our support for her leadership on that effort. A second ongoing issue has been the proposal to build a little league ball field atop a toxic dump that emits methane gas. In addition, a large playing field in that location would cause significant traffic control and parking issues in a residential neighborhood. Finally, Karen strongly supports the Spokane Comprehensive Plan, and is a passionate advocate for Spokane River preservation projects.
