November 30th: Opportunities for ACTION!!

Monday, November 30th, 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm, Nov 30th 2009

Are you energized by the election results and fired up about the power of grassroots organizing? Do you want to help lead the movement to create a renewable energy future and get Washington off coal; build a sustainable transportation system; and elect the next generation of progressive environmental champions?

Then please join us from 7-9pm on Monday, November 30th to learn about how you can plug into direct opportunities for action.  For decades, the Cascade Chapter of the Sierra Club has achieved environmental victories through grassroots power, from helping to develop and pass a statewide renewable energy initiative, to defeating the poorly crafted Roads and Transit Ballot Measure and its 182 miles of sprawl inducing suburban freeways, to electing one former Board Chair and long-time volunteer leader as the Mayor of Seattle (Mike McGinn), and another to the Seattle City Council (Mike O'Brien).

We know that it takes empowered and energized volunteers to win and that's why we need your help.

Join us from 7-9pm on Monday, November 30th, at the Chapter office (180 Nickerson St, Suite 202, Seattle, WA, 98109) to hear from long-time volunteer leader and Seattle City Councilmember-elect Mike O'Brien about his experience with the Sierra Club, and other current volunteer leaders about how you can get involved with our grassroots campaigns to shape the future of our region.
