David Boe: City Council #7, Tacoma
Posted on July 12, 2011 - 11:44am
David Boe has lived and worked in Tacoma since 1989, working as an architect for others until he started his own firm in 1996. He has civically served Tacoma well over the last 20 plus years, as member of the Tacoma Arts Commission and Tacoma Cultural Plan Steering Committee, Vice-Chair of Tacoma Planning Commission, and in January 2010 was appointed to fill the vacant at-large Position No. 7 on the Tacoma City Council. On the Council he has served on the Environment and Public Works Committee, Economic Development Committee, as alternate on the Neighborhood and Housing Committee, as alternate on the Puget Sound Regional Council Transportation Committee, and as a member of the Forever Green Pierce County Executive Board. With his architectural and Planning Commission expertise he has been a valuable voice on urban land-use planning and transportation issues in his short time on the Council. His votes cast on the Council have been vital to passing city resolutions and ordinances promoting environmental protection and sustainability. His questionnaire and particularly his interview were excellent. With no viable opposition, David Boe is the overwhelming choice of the Sierra Club and Conservation Voters for this position.
