Joan Bloom: City Council #5, Edmonds

JOAN BLOOM is a strong advocate of wetlands preservation and restoration. She also served a two-year term on the Edmonds Transportation Committee, and was able to put in the Transportation Comprehensive Plan the goal of providing a shuttle to transport people from the neighborhoods to the Edmonds Bowl. She reviewed the Sustainability Element of the City’s Comprehensive Plan, and nearly all of her suggestions were integrated. Currently Joan serves as co-chair of the newly formed Edmonds Tree Board. She has also received certification for her garden as a Backyard Wildlife Habitat. “Because I am dedicated to the stewardship of our habitat, I will seek consultation with the Sierra Club regarding environmental issues that come before the Edmonds City Council." http://myedmondsnews.com/edmonds-election-watch-2011/edmonds-city-council-candidate-joan-bloom-position-5/
