Jesse Salomon: City Council #6, Shoreline
Posted on October 13, 2011 - 1:47pm
JESSE SALOMON graduated from the University of Washington School of Law in 2002 and is a public defender in Seattle Municipal Court. His strong depth of issues, coupled with his ability to articulate his position, will make him a strong advocate for sustainability on the Shoreline Council. Jesse has served as a planning commissioner protecting rural areas from urban sprawl, co-founded a successful non-profit for homeless youth and spearheaded a winning drive to institute 100% post-consumer recycled paper policies at Western Washington University. Jesse’s goals include reducing Shoreline’s use of Styrofoam and plastic bags. He supports the development of a town center served by rapid ride and mass transit, as a way to tastefully densify the Shoreline urban area and reduce carbon emissions. Jesse has endorsements from the labor community and hopes to be a bridge builder between environmental and labor advocates.
