Tom Riggs: State Representative #2, District 10
Tom Riggs is making his second run for the State Legislature, this time for an open seat. He made a strong showing against an entrenched opponent in 2010, and has improved his resume with two years as President of the Camano Island Chamber of Commerce. Tom has also served as Chairman of the Law Enforcement Committee (Washington State Parks and Recreation), Mission Benevolence Team (Camano Lutheran Church) and Public Safety Team (WA Parks and Rec).
His service on the Revenue and Efficiency Taskforce provides Tom a broader perspective on how government and private enterprise can work effectively and collaboratively. A Washington State Park Ranger for 18 years, Tom lives with his wife and two children on a five-acres with an orchard and chickens, living the sustainable life.
Tom ranks environmental protection among his highest priorities, with a commitment to the expansion of renewable energy innovation, manufacturing and deployment in Washington State. He is on board with the Sierra Club Coal Campaign, and will be an asset to us all in Olympia.
