Wayne Roth: City Council #5, Bainbridge Island

Wayne Roth’s public broadcasting career spans 40 years. He served on the board of National Public Radio and was chairman from 1988 to 1990. As President of local NPR affiliate KUOW, he co-founded EarthFix-- an environmental documentary program that reaches 750,000 people a week-- and has worked to expand news coverage on environmental issues. He is an active supporter of environmental education and was a member of the West Sound Advisory Committee during the planning and development of IslandWood. Currently he is working in support of a Transportation Alternatives Program grant application which affects Bainbridge portions of the Sound to Olympics Trail/SR 301 Corridor Enhancement. Roth supports improvements to mass transit including safe and convenient bike, transit and pedestrian lanes.
