Rose Clark: City Council #5, Burien

Rose Clark has been an ardent long-time environmental defender. As a public watchdog, she:
- Initiated the first ever health study to investigate the rates of cancer, respiratory problems, and breast cancer for those who live under the flight path of SeaTac Airport
- Held the Port of Seattle accountable for environmental impacts of SeaTac’s third runway
- Formed a partnership with Vashon Island to protect the environment from gravel mining and transport to mainland
- Pushed for Dept. of Ecology response to arsenic and lead contamination
- Pushed to begin the Miller Creek Basin Plan and purchase of Hoffman Wetlands
