Seth Fleetwood: County Council, Whatcom County

Fleetwood took office as an advocate for open space, and has since supported the controversial down-zoning of the Lake Whatcom Watershed – the city’s drinking water supply. He also supports the progressive ban of motorized watercraft on the lake, another point of controversy. He’s an advocate of the new Critical Areas Ordinance, designed to protect salmon habitat, and we expect he’ll back the new Shoreline Management Program update, which will also contain strong provisions for shoreline habitat preservation.
