EVENTS COORDINATOR
Background: The Cascade Chapter would like to host regular events in the community to educate our members and the public about challenges threatening the environment. We would also like to use these events to raise money to solve these challenges.
Objectives:
Lead the Events team in planning a small (PAC) fundraising event in September.
Create, promote, and supervise two Chapter fundraising events for 2007 and to have fun doing it.
- Create a strong and self-sustaining Events Team, by encouraging and nurturing leadership skills.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with Fundraising Chair to create a schedule and a budget
- Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinator to build Events Team
- Manage and motivate the Events Team; includes leading the Planning Meetings
- Collaborate with Communications Chair regarding promotion and advertising of event
- Help create and monitor a task timeline for the Events Team
- De-brief team, evaluate event and budget and report to Chapter Executive Committee
Qualifications:
- Experience with event planning
- Creativity and enthusiasm
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Willingness to delegate responsibility to others
- Proficiency in email and Word , with some Excel a plus
Time commitment:
This position requires approximately 10-15 hours a month (or more during major events, as needed) to meet Fundraising goals and deadlines.
