EVENTS TEAM

Background: The Cascade Chapter would like to host regular events in the community to educate members and the public about challenges threatening the environment. We would also like to use these events to raise money to solve these challenges.

Objective:

-        Assist in planning a small (PAC) fundraising event in September.

-        Create and promote two Chapter fundraising events for 2007 and to have fun doing it.

-        Learn and grow in leadership skills.

Responsibilities: (to be divided among Team Members)

-        Attend planning meetings (most held weekday evenings) (All Team Members)

-        Brainstorm with Events Coordinator and team members to develop creative ideas for events (All Team Members)

-        Negotiate event space, catering and entertainment

-        Collaborate with the Corporate Sponsors Chair to solicit donations for the event, from local businesses and/or corporations

-        Create and mail invitations, then follow-up by email and phone

-        Work with prep and clean-up crews

-        Provide metrics and feedback for a de-briefing after the events to Development Committee

Qualifications:

-        Creativity, enthusiasm, and commitment to success

-        Flexibility and ability to work well as a team member

-        Attention to detail

-        Experience with event planning a plus

-        Proficiency in email and Word , with some Excel a plus

Time commitment: Approximately 8 hours per month, but possibly more close to event date

Start Date: July / August

Position duration: 1 year +
