DEVELOPMENT TEAM ADMINISTRATOR

Background: As a non-profit organization we never lack in issues to work on but often lack in adequate resources to address the issues. The goal of the Development Committee is to raise money to support the work of the Cascade Chapter in addressing these issues. We are looking for someone to provide administrative assistance to the Development Committee.

Objective:

- Provide general administrative support and record-keeping for the Fundraising Chair and Fundraising Team

-        - Learn and grow in leadership skills

Responsibilities:

-        Assist the Development Chair and Development Team in administrative efforts.

-        Learn how to utilize the Sierra Club’s national data bases MUIR and HELEN, to record member contact and donations.

-        Order fundraising materials as needed for 2 yearly appeal mailings.

-        Schedule and place ads for donations, planned giving, merchandise sales, in the Chapter newsletter and/or on the Chapter website.

Qualifications:

-- Proficiency in email, Word, and Excel.

-- Prior experience in the tracking and updating of spreadsheets for budgets, inventory, etc.

-- Demonstrated strong organizational skills.

-- Strong written and oral communication skills.

-- Ability to interact effectively with public, volunteers, staff, and other outside organizations.

Time commitment:   6-8 hours per month

Start Date: July/August

Position duration: 1 year +
